Starting the Day

Please arrive at 9:15 and enjoy a cup of tea or little nibble before we settle into a welcome circle at 9:30.

Morning Session: Year End review

Through guided reflective writing, Life Coach Nicola Holmes will help you take stock of 2019 and harness its gifts, honor yourself in the present, and vision for a nourishing, expansive 2020.

If you’ve never made the time for a ritual like this, get ready for a treat - and if you’ve often found yourself trying to squeeze this powerful inner work around your friends/family or holiday parties and endless to-do lists at the end of the year, well, let’s get a little jump start and nourish this contemplative practice before the onslaught of December, shall we?!

Lunch (12:30 -1:30)

We’ll protect an hour of time for you to do what you wish at this point in the day. You’re welcome to enjoy a community vegetarian potluck, stay quiet & keep writing while munching, or hop outside for a change of scene in a nearby restaurant or some fresh air.

Afternoon Session: Winter Circle & Ceremony

In contradiction to the busyness of the season, Winter teaches us about incubation: to honour the dark by slowing down, resting, and storing our energy. This is the time for gestating insights and tapping into deeper truths. As we consciously follow the rhythm of the seasons, we allow ourselves to nurture what is growing inside and discover the inherent wisdom available to us all.

During the afternoon session, Kristen will lead us into a circle process of experiential learning, creativity, and personal and group wisdom gathering, concluding with a beautiful ceremony to mark the journey and welcome Winter’s dark.

Little Extra Gift

Before departing, we’ll offer some practical tips on how to make your December as sane, healthy, and nourishing as possible - at a time when social expectations, the darkness, and the pressure for everything to be ‘picture-perfect & joyous’ can create conditions that actually feel quite stressful, difficult, or painful for many. You’ll also receive a beautiful suggestion for how to celebrate the Winter Solstice, to centre yourself with conscious ritual on the longest night of the year.

Wrap Up

We’ll complete our day with space to acknowledge our experiences and appreciate our time together.
